The Rossier School of Education will host a virtual job talk/teaching demonstration featuring Dr. Atheneus Ocampo, Adjunct Assistant Professor, Rossier School of Education. The title of his teaching demonstration is entitled, “Decolonizing Counseling: Counseling as the Practice of Freedom.” Please click the link to join the meeting.

 

Dr. Atheneus Ocampo is also part of the El Camino College Counseling Faculty. His immigrant Filipinx lived experience empowers his personal and professional lens. His educational journey includes earning his BA in Social Sciences from the University of Southern California, MA in Guidance and Counseling, and Ed.D. in Educational Leadership for Social Justice from Loyola Marymount University. Dr. Ocampo has extensive professional experience in community college counseling, interrogating systems of power towards identifying and addressing institutional and systematic barriers and working towards co-construction inclusive spaces. He is guided by a praxis of hope, strength and love towards equity and social justice.
